so good...
This song is by Fever Ray - 'When I Grow Up'. I love it, love it, love it, and i love the video aswell!
I especially like the bit when she sings ...
I put my soul in what I do
Last night I drew a funny man
with dark eyes and a hanging tongue
It goes way bad, I never liked a sad look
From someone who wants to be loved by you

Beautiful
I saw this today and I thought 'cute' they were growing up on a concrete wall and just lighting up the space. Sometimes I really miss the being closer to the nature here in London.

Gigantic leaves!!
On our way from the Tate Britain Museum we found a freakishly huuuge leave. It was a nice sign of autumn being here...

Details of Germany...
I had a really great time in Munich where I went to visit my lovely lovely friend for a few days. Unfortunately, I forgot to charge the battery to the camera so I was only able to take some shots the first days.

NSS Poster Competition
My poster was shortlisted and one of the 7 I think to be considered to front the NSS 2009 marketing campaign. I didn't win, but I'm happy I was one of the few that was shortlisted and I am really happy with my design. And thank you to everyone who voted for me!!!

1971 REISS T-Shirt Design Contest

The contest organized by Dazed and Digital was about creating a design that conveyed the year 1971. The winning design was £500 in vouchers and their t-shirt designs produced as part of a limited edition collection to be launched during that year’s London Fashion Week. The finalists got chosen by votes. My submission made it to the final I think in 2008 (?) and I got to choose any pair of jeans from the 1971 Reiss collection. So I was very happy!
Rapa Nui Kulturnatten 2010 Uppsala
My uncle Hector Escanilla organized a performance in Uppsala for 'Kulturnatten' 2010. The dancer Tiare Tuki is amazing and is a professional dancer from the Easter Islands. I designed the poster for the event A love story from the Easter Islands, Tiare and me...

And here are some from the night, all pictures taken by Paola Lopez.

Uppsala Press 2010
This is Uppsala Press ready to go out for distribution. I designed it for the Left Party in Uppsala, Sweden and it got massproduced, i think it ended up being 20.000 copies.
I designed a few other things for them, for their elections campaign which I will show at some other point, together with some of the contents of the newspaper 'Uppsala Press'.

Concrete brick on our backyard
I painted this brick last summer, it's a brick I found on the street and thought I could paint it. There's something about concrete bricks that I like, you can paint different motifs on different sides and somehow connect them.. and they are easy to access, I think I'll paint a few more when I find the time.
At first we had it in our backyard, but since the beginning of the last winter my mum moved it to the toilet on a shelf, where it know lives!

The Design Museum in London
First of all, I know I haven't posted anything up for like 6 months or so but I just have to get used to this whole blogging habit and now I been blogging quite a lot for my university projects, so Im kind of getting used to it.
So... a few weeks ago I went to the Design Museum to see the Brit Insurance Design Awards of the year 2010 which was being displayed in the Design Museum. They are in their third year and they showcase the most innovative and forward thinking designs from around the world.
designsoftheyear.com blog because it's so simple yet such a smart solution. Here are some pictures of my favourite projects.

And another really pretty project is the Typographic Tree which was made for a library and is a collection of people's favourite books, places and memories;

This year's winner is the Folding Plug by Min-Kyu Choi, which I unfortunately don't have a picture of but you can see on the
First off is the Cafe of Equivalent$; which is an attempt to create transparency in an opaque world of money, making material the physical possibilites of using financial resources for need rather than profit.
I also really liked the Trillion Dollar Campaign; it is to do with Mugabe's regime having caused the total collapse of the economy, which basically has made paper too expensive for the Zimbabwean to use, so to make a statement a simple message has been printed on the worthless money, i think it's great and very effective.
